Why this stage matters
Your app build is scheduled into our development cycle as soon as everything on this list has been returned. The quicker we receive your assets, the sooner your app is built – delays can push the build back by a couple of weeks, so it’s well worth gathering everything early.
Your Phase 1 checklist
Each of these choices shapes your app’s look, feel and first impression – our guide Your App | Your Brand | Your Home Screen walks you through them in more detail.
Apple Developer Account access – create your Apple Developer account and invite our team as Admins. Full guide: Creating Your Apple Developer Account
Your app name – what users will see first, on their phones and in the app stores. Choose something recognisable, relevant and uniquely yours, with a maximum of 30 characters
Your greeting – the first message users see when they open your app. Our default is 'Hi, what would you like to discover?' but you can make it your own - keep it friendly, local and true to your voice
Your colours – your brand colour is used for your main header and primary navigation, and your action colour highlights links, buttons and anything users can tap. Share your palette or key brand shades and we’ll bring the app to life with them
Your logo – whether you’re a BID, council or business group, your logo signals who the app belongs to and builds instant trust with users
Your cover image – your visual headline. Choose a high-quality photo that captures the spirit of your area, whether that’s a landmark, an event or a vibrant local scene
Your app icon – users will see this every day, so keep it simple and recognisable. Supply it at 1024×1024px and 512×512px. See Creating Your App Icon
Your marketing URL – typically your website, or another page where you’re promoting the app – it gives app users somewhere to learn more
Your Privacy Policy URL – see Your App's Privacy Policy for guidance on what to include
Your support preference – how should app users reach you with queries? Either a support page on your website (send us the URL) or an email address for your team
Dashboard users – the name, email address and device type (iPhone or Android) of each person who needs dashboard access to manage your app content or will be testing the app
If your app includes exclusive content, we’ll also confirm your verification method at this stage – and if we’re migrating content from an existing platform, we’ll agree the export format and timings.
What happens once we have everything?
Our tech team schedules your app and dashboard build. Once it’s complete, we move into Phase 2 – populating your app with content, training your team, and planning your launch campaign. We’ll also arrange test access so your team can see the app on their own devices.
