Phase 3: Review & Release

The final stretch! Phase 3 covers testing, final checks, submission to the app stores, and agreeing your release date.

Written by Heather Clamp

What happens in Phase 3?

  • Final app testing and configuration

  • Your content reviewed and polished, ready for the world

  • A short content freeze while the app is reviewed

  • Submission to the Apple App Store and Google Play

  • Release! 🎉

The content freeze

Shortly before submission, we’ll agree a short window where your app’s set-up and content stay as they are. This means the app stores review exactly what your users will see – it’s the final version, frozen in its best form. Don’t worry, you can keep planning and drafting content behind the scenes.

Submitting to the app stores

We handle the submission to both stores for you. Apple’s review is usually quicker than people expect – read What Happens After You Submit Your App to the Apple App Store? for exactly what happens, how long it takes, and what to do while you wait.

The pre-launch call

Once your app is approved in both stores, we’ll schedule a quick pre-launch check-in to make sure everything is ready:

  • Your app content is checked and looking its best

  • Any final content – like your launch competition or last businesses – is added

  • Your launch campaign is ready to go

  • You’re confident with your assets and links, and how to use them

  • We agree exactly when your app will be released

Launch

On the agreed date, we press the button and your app goes live in both stores. We’ll confirm the moment it’s out in the world – then it’s over to your launch campaign! See Launch Day & Beyond for what happens next.
