Preparing for Your Kick-Off Call

The Kick-Off Call is the official starting point of your app launch. Here’s what we’ll cover and how to get the most out of it.

Written by Heather Clamp

What’s the Kick-Off Call for?

This is where we bring both teams together, align on your goals for your app, walk through the app launch journey, and confirm what’s needed to get moving. It usually takes about an hour, and by the end of the call everyone will know exactly what happens next.

What we’ll cover

  1. Welcome & introductions – key contacts and responsibilities on both sides

  2. Your goals – what success looks like for your app and your place

  3. App scope – confirming the core features included in your app

  4. Exclusivity (if it's in your package) – how users will verify they're eligible to access your exclusive offers

  5. Migration considerations – if you're moving from an existing platform, we'll identify what's needed for a smooth migration and plan it together

  6. The launch journey – the three phases and your likely timeline

  7. What we need from you – the Phase 1 checklist of assets, accounts and access

  8. Next steps & Q&A

Who should join?

  • Your project lead – the person who’ll be our main day-to-day contact

  • Your marketing or communications lead

  • Anyone who’ll be involved in the project from now until the app launches

What to think about beforehand

You don’t need to have firm answers to any of these questions, but giving them some thought beforehand will help us make the most of the call:

  • What does success look like for your app? This could include number of downloads, number of business engaged, footfall or something else.

  • Who on your team will provide branding assets and manage app content?

  • Are there any major local events or seasonal moments that could help shape your launch window?

  • Are there any internal deadlines, approval processes or board dates we should be aware of?

  • Do you have an Apple Developer Account or will you need to set one up?

What happens afterwards?

Following the call, we’ll send you a summary of the agreed actions, along with three follow-up emails covering:

  • Creating your Apple Developer Account

  • The assets we need for your app and dashboard

  • Suggested inclusions for your Privacy Policy
