Workbench pulls your Tasks and Activities into one place and lets you update them from everywhere within Solomon.

Workbench can be accessed from anywhere in Solomon, by clicking on a button located in the top right of your browser window.

Workbench can be left open as you work (while using the Directory for example) or can be closed to make more space on your screen.

Tasks

You can view all your Tasks in the Workbench and from here you can manage your workload and complete Tasks with a click of a button.

A Task records a piece of work to be undertaken. Each Task has a status (Pending, To Do, In Progress, Done and Cancelled) and contains other information like a description and a due date.

Tasks now include a progress (%) bar so you can monitor how close the Task is to completion. Once the Task has been marked as done, the Progress Bar will automatically be set to 100%.

There are two main ways you can use Tasks

  1. Assign objectives to yourself and keep a work diary of what needs to be completed, with the ability to mark what has been done and keep track of what is currently in progress.

  2. Assign the task to others, once they have completed the task you will receive an email notification.

Use Tasks the smart way

Located in the Workbench, you can access your tasks at any time no matter where you are on the system, making it super easy to keep track of your day-to-day activities. You can view all of the tasks assigned to you and use the ‘Sort’ tool to allow you to organise them by the due date.

Progress bar

As we know life can sometimes get hectic, juggling work and home life, so with Solomon, you can monitor and adjust the progress of all your tasks. Not only can you see the % of how far along you are until the task is completed, but you can also change the status of your task from ‘pending’, ‘to do’, ‘in progress’, ‘done’, and ‘cancelled’. You can also reopen your task if you need to go back to it.

Managing your Tasks

As well as being able to keep an eye on the progress of tasks, you can add notes to each task. For example, if a task is a long-winded piece of work, you can note what you have done throughout the day. Making your next working day more manageable, you can pick up where you left off. It also really is helpful if you have a task that is assigned to yourself as well as other team members. Notes allow your team to keep track of productivity and progress.

Activities

As with Tasks, you can view your latest 50 Activities in your Workbench.
Without clicking into the Activity you can see detailed information about this, which is perfect whilst using the Workbench on your mobile device.

You can see the Activity Type, the Activity Subtype, the public description and the time and date from your Workbench.
