Tagging is a great and efficient way of grouping or filtering different records in your database.
You can use Tags throughout Vicinity, applying them to Businesses, People, Activities and Tasks and Projects.
How to create a new Tag
Go to the 'Settings' button
Select 'Manage Tags'
Click the '+' icon
Type the name of the Tag
Select which type of records the Tag should be available on.
Save
*Selecting which type of record each tag is available on will help the team when they are adding them to records in the database as they will only be presented with the tags that are relevant to the type of records i.e 'Charity Shop' would be a Business tag but 'Event VIP' would be a Person tag. Please see the article - Scoping Tags
Adding Tags to records
You can add the Tag to Businesses and other records in the same create/edit Tag window. For example, you can add a person to the Tag or even create a person this way as well.
You can also add a tag from within a record too
Deleting and Merging Tags
You can also delete the Tag. Just be aware that once you remove a Tag you will remove the Tag from everything that is associated with it.
We advise regular reviews of the Tags available and checking if similar Tags tags have been created, an example of this might be someone may created a tag called 'ASB' and someone else one named 'Anti Social Behaviour' they are the same thing so you can merge the two together. Check out this article about Merging Tags.
