Add ‘check in to reveal’ content to a trail

Learn how to add content that only appears after a user has checked in at a trail location.

Written by Heather Clamp

This is a great way to make your trails feel more interactive and location-led. You can use it to reveal extra information, promote a nearby business, or reward users once they have reached the right place.

Step 1: Log in to your Dashboard

From your dashboard, click Promote to access your app content.

Step 2: Open the Trails tab

Go to the Trails tab.

Step 3: Choose your trail

Find the trail you would like to add ‘check in to reveal’ content to, then click on the trail title to open it.

Step 4: Choose your trail location

Select the trail location you would like to add the content to.

You can also create a new trail location if you are adding this to a new stop on your trail.

Step 5: Add a check-in element

Within the content box for your trail location, add a check-in element.

Once this has been added, you will see the option for 'After check-in content'.

Step 6: Add your 'click to reveal' content

Click the After check-in content dropdown.

A new content box will appear where you can add the content you would like users to see after they check in.

You can add text, images, links, and other content, depending on what you would like the user to do next.

Step 7: Save your changes

Click Update to save your changes.

Or, click Cancel if you do not want to save them.

What happens next?

When a user visits the trail location and checks in, your ‘after check-in’ content will appear.

This helps turn each trail stop into more of an experience, making sure users are in the right location before they unlock the next piece of content.
