1. Log in

Head to dashboard.getvicinity.com and log in with your user details.

2. Go to your Businesses list

Click the “Businesses” tab in the top menu.

You’ll see a list of all the businesses currently in your directory.

3. Add a new business

Click Create (top right corner). This will open the Business Details pop-up.

Tip: Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required before you can save.

4. Fill in the business details

Everything you enter here is what your app users will see - so ensure it's something you want to share!

  • Trading Name – The name above the door.

  • Address – You can be as specific as needed (e.g., “Second floor, entrance at the back”).

  • Postcode - For reference.

  • Business Description – Highlight what’s special. You can use wording from their website/social media, or get AI to help write something eye-catching.

5. Opening hours

Use the toggles to mark which days the business is open.

  • On (illuminated) = Open

  • Off (greyed out) = Closed

Click the time or the clock icon to adjust the opening/closing times.

6. Add web & social links and the businesses

(Optional but recommended)

You can link to the business’s website, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

7. Add the business contact details

Important: Use public contact details only - don’t add personal emails or numbers, as these will be displayed in the app.

8. Add an image

Choose something that represents the business well - a logo or a great photo of the front of the business.

  • Select the image you'd like to upload and click Upload files to add the image new image to your library.

  • It will become part of your image library and you can select it at any time from the dropdown under the 'upload image' box.

9. Pin the location

Click Add a location to place the Google Map pin:

  • Search the address in the search field, or

  • Drag and drop the pin for precision

  • You can also use Advanced to set coordinates manually

Tip: If you make a mistake, click Clear location to start over.

10. Sector

Select the sector shown in the dropdown - this doesn’t currently affect the app’s display, but is still required.

10. Save your business

Click Save (or Save and Close). Your business is now in the directory!
