How to Send Push Notifications

Learn how to send push notifications using the partnership dashboard in this step-by-step guide. Discover how to target specific user groups and schedule notifications to promote events, deals, and more.

  1. Log In To Your Partnership Dashboard
    Log in to your partnership dashboard using your login details.

  2. Open Place Notifications

    • Click Place Notifications in the menu on the left side.

  3. Choose Your Audience

    • Click the Audience dropdown and select one of the following options:

      • All Users: Sends the notification to everyone with the app.

      • Users Who Have Interacted with Trails: Targets users who have interacted with trails.

      • Users Who Have Viewed Deals: Sends the notification to users who have viewed a business's offer profile.

      • Users Who Have Redeemed Deals: Targets users who have scanned a loyalty stamp or claimed a deal.

  4. Create Your Push Notification

    • Enter your push notification in the 'Message' text box.

    • Preview how the message will appear on the example phone screen (on the right side of the screen).

  5. Schedule the Notification

    • If you're happy with your push notification, enter a Date and Time in the "Send Date and Time" field.

    • Click the Send button at the bottom of the screen to schedule the push notification.

  6. Repeat these steps as necessary to schedule further push notifications.

    Remember

    • Push notifications are sent out in batches over a 30-minute period - for event related notifications, ensure you schedule them at least 30 minutes before the event start time to allow time for delivery.

    • To view previously scheduled push notifications scroll down to the bottom of the Place Notifications page where you will be able to view a list of previously scheduled push notifications.
